Dao Yang is the Farm Manager at The Hmong American Farmers Association (HAFA).
Dao is a firstborn Hmong-American, who grew-up in the heart of Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is a professional skilled tradesman and entrepreneur. He grew-up surrounded by natural entrepreneurs and a community of family farmers, who understood and recognized the value of organic and traditional indigenous farming. The need for effective farming equipment and safe, sustainable innovative farming structures and solutions influenced him to pursue a tradesman career and gained him a wealth of experience and knowledge as an automotive and construction expert, in which he has spent the last 15 years cultivating. He is also a natural creative problem-solver, quick-learner and is born with a natural green thumb. He is excited to be a part of HAFA and looks forward to the future in co-creating equitable access to healthy food choices and build promising futures for HAFA farmers and partners. Dao lives in New Brighton with his partner and six children.
